Barnardo’s Helpline

Barnardo's

The hotline provides advice on a range of issues including, but not limited to, housing options, access to education, benefits, settlement and resettlement. It has a team of culturally diverse staff who speak multiple languages, including Cantonese and English.

On your side

On Your Side is a UK-wide support and reporting service for anyone in the UK who identifies as East and Southeast Asian who has experienced racism or any forms of hate.

 

 The Growth Company

The Growth Company's Jobs for Hongkongers supports people from Hong Kong find work and settle into life within England.

Programme overview

Eligibility

To access Jobs for Hongkongers support you must be on the Hong Kong (BN(O) Scheme. Documentation will be required to support your eligibility.

Hongkongers in Britain (HKB)

HKB is a civil-society organisation established in July 2020. HKB’s primary objectives are to provide assistance, advice and support for the Hongkongers community coming to/arrived in the UK; enabling them to settle, integrate, and contribute towards the UK society.

HKSS - Hong Kong Settlement Scheme - Kirklees Citizens Advice & Law Centre (kcalc.org.uk)

KCALC has launched Hong Kong Settlement Scheme in partnership with Hong Kong Hub to provide bilingual advice service for BN(O) Visa holders who live in the Yorkshire and Humber region to give general advice (in English and Cantonese) and legal advice (available in English Only) to support new arrivals from Hong Kong. This service is free.

PATH Yorkshire

Positive Youth Pathways offers support and guidance to young Hongkongers aged 17-21 residing in West Yorkshire. This programme’s mission is to facilitate their understanding of British culture, language, and values, fostering a seamless integration into British society. In this programme, participants will gain English language skills for both living and working in the UK. This programme provides a diverse range of opportunities for personal and professional growth, including training sessions, seminars, cultural events, and heritage trips. Positive Youth Pathways is delivered by PATH Yorkshire.

Drop-in session on local support in Yorkshire and Humber region – 20 April 2022

This event provided an overview of help available for Hongkongers settling in Yorkshire and Humber. The session was split in two parts covering national and regional support. 

Drop-in session on volunteering - 2 February 2022

This session provided an overview of what volunteering is, explained benefits of volunteering and help available to volunteers in Hull, Leeds and Sheffield.
