Embarking on a peer research approach

As a community researcher with MY, I felt during fieldwork that the participants were reassured by my presence ... I explain to them what we do with their stories, who has access to them, and why – so the participant knows what our purpose is and can make an informed decision about participating. Employing these practices helps ensure we act responsibly in relation to the stories we hear.
