What do we know about volunteering involving people with a forced migration background?
Table of contents
Overview
Many people involved in volunteering, in migration related work, or in activism are ‘firefighting’ day to day and lack easy access to the knowledge, resources, influences and networks that could help us individually, and collectively to do volunteering ‘well’. In this case, ‘well’ means effectively, sustainably, and with psychological and physical safety for all involved.
This section of the toolkit aims to
- share a range of knowledge, ideas and data reflecting local, national and international experience and thought
- highlight some of the barriers to accessing helpful new knowledge
- share ideas on what knowledge we might need and create.
