What is this mailing list for?
This mailing list is primarily for Hongkongers and their family members arriving to the UK via British National (Oversees) (BN(O)) visa route. We circulate information relevant to the Hong Kong Welcome Programme to people on the mailing list, such as:

Updates on the development of the programme in Yorkshire and Humber.

New information added to our Hong Kong hub.

Details of our forthcoming events and ways of getting involved.

Information about new projects and support available in your area.
We send emails regularly, approximately once a month.

Our purposes for collecting your personal information are:

to better understand the number and destination of the BN(O) status holders in the UK, for effective delivery of the Hong Kong Welcome Programme
The legal basis we are relying on for processing your personal data is your explicit consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, and to ask that we delete the data: to do this, please contact us at Migration Yorkshire, either by email at HK@migrationyorkshire.org.uk or by phone on 0113 3788188.
Your details will be held in accordance with UK data protection legislation. We’ll keep your personal data on our records till 30 June 2024; after this we will securely destroy it, unless we have obtained further consent from you to keep them for longer.
Your personal information will only be accessible to our staff working on the Hong Kong Welcome Programme; we won’t share it outside Migration Yorkshire.
Information collected helps us to focus our service on information relevant to the areas in which Hongkongers are settling. We will also send anonymised (aggregated) data on settlement patterns to the UK government, to help them improve the delivery of the Welcome Programme.
Migration Yorkshire is based in Leeds City Council, and the council is the data controller for the information you provide.
