Reflections on the term 'experts by experience'
In this blog, published by the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford, Hyab Yohannes, research associate at the University of Glasgow, and Migration Yorkshire community researcher Tesfalem Yemane, critically reflect on the term 'experts by experience', often used in the context of peer research.
It is important to highlight that there is an element of embodied knowledge within us that comes from our experiences of migration. But we might have skills other than what is imagined in our stories of exile and displacement.
