The definition of refugee participation that you use will in great part determine what you want to achieve, and the levels of participation you want to develop. The suggested actions below provide a small template for you to define your own ambition.

• Consider the International Association for Public Participation’s ‘IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation’, which lists various levels of participation. What levels do you think your service or organisation should aim at? In your opinion, what factors could limit the levels of participation that you can implement? 
• Based on the suggestions provided in this chapter, develop a definition of refugee participation that you can realistically embed in your service or organisation. You can then use this definition in guidance, policy, or strategy documents, as well as in training of staff and engagement with refugees
