Accessibility

We’re committed to making our website accessible, inclusive and user-friendly for everyone. This website is run by Migration Yorkshire.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. Some of the things we do to make our web pages accessible are:

  • We try to make the text on our web pages as simple as possible to understand.
  • We use clearly labelled links that still make sense when read out of context.
  • We use plain backgrounds to improve the readability of text.
  • Visitors can resize text on the web pages.
  • No information is exclusively conveyed using colour.
  • Images have appropriate alternative descriptions (‘alt text’).
  • We try to ensure that the website works well when viewed with a range of popular browsers, including currently supported versions of Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Safari.

You can change the appearance of this website by changing your web browser settings. For instance, you can change the background colour and the text size. The BBC’s Web My Way website has information on how to adjust the settings in specific operating systems and browsers. Web pages look different depending on both the size of your computer monitor and the screen resolution (the higher the screen resolution, the more information you can see on your screen without scrolling).

AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

We use pdf (portable document format) file format for some documents. You can get free Adobe Acrobat Reader software to view pdf files.
