Refugee Participation

People with lived experience of forced migration want and need to participate in, and have much to contribute to, different aspects of UK life – for example, business, culture and community.

As well as bringing new ideas, skills, knowledge and insight that can add great value to services, business, communities and strategists, newcomers to the community bring a desire to connect with the community and develop bonds.

If you want to learn more about how you can create meaningful opportunities for participation, please get in touch with us at admin@migrationyorkshire.org.uk

Refugee participation toolkit

This Toolkit provides practical ideas for transforming the concept of refugee participation into practice. It is a resource that can help you identify opportunities, learn from the strengths and weaknesses of your work, service or organisation, review how your practices can lead to the inclusion or exclusion of refugees, and identify the best approaches to participation that can contribute to successful integration.
